2012 S4 dipstick
Hello. Had my S4 chipped by Audi to make it a little healthier. Within a few months the MMI said oil was low. Took it in for service and was told they replaced crankcase breather valve that was letting it burn oil.
I wanted to be able to do a manual oil check and parts said they don't carry a dipstick for the S4 and if I wanted one to buy it on line. Yet I was also told not to leave the dipstick in the engine while running it. That the dipstick would destroy the engine if I left it in.I was told to use the MMI for oil check and leave a dipstick out. Being a V8 engine builder all my life I find this hard to believe. Can anyone with a knowledge base of Audi engine add a little light on this subject. Thanks Rick

I have a 2013, I ordered a dipstick, you have to order the one for Q7 3.0
I am not sure about leaving it in all the time as the cap does seal the tube, the engine does make a lot of vacuum. I hope this helps
