Can I sell my motor out of my B6 S4?
So over the last few weeks, my B6 S4 (4.2 40V V8) has been in the shop getting a new motor. The motor that is being replaced does not have any compression in 2 cylinders and very little in two others. The motor has 120k miles on it.
Does anyone know if i would have any luck selling it?
Any ideas on how I would go about this?
These motors are around $4-5k used (in good working condition) and $8-15k if they are re-built with new, fresh parts.
Break down on what happened to the car: Driving around in the snow one day and all of the sudden it started to idle VERY rough and there was a huge loss of power. Took it to a shop and they did a compression test and the rest is pretty self-explanatory.
So the shop has a new motor on the way. The new motor has 21k miles on it. It was in a roll over accident. This whole ordeal is costing around 8k. So selling the blown motor would greatly help.... even if I only get $300 for it.
Thank you
