Hello everyone. I am considering purchasing a 2002 audi s8 with 70,000 plus miles. I read the car fax report and everything looks ok. My problem is there is a tuner that offers an OBD2 flash for this model car. They also state that their upgrade improves shift speed by 40%. From what I have seen the 2002 audi s8 d2 transmission doesn't shift very fast kind of slow by todays standards. The slow shifting is what kept me from purchasing this car in the past. Will 40% result in a difference that I can see and feel or will it not make that much of a difference? I really like the d2. They also offer this and more for the d3 s8 as well. The d3 s8 transmission shifts fine to me. Will it make any real difference on the d3?

 

Did you ever get a reply on this? I'm also curious. I did find a code thru VAGCOM to reprogram the trans to shift via the toggles without having to move the shifter to the tip position (MUCH more convenient in my opinion!), I certainly wouldn't mind speeding up the actual shifting.
