Is there any way to check hoses yourself. 1998 2.8 5spd. My car surges pretty low when idling and sometimes will even cut off, pretty sure its a hose but ive gone through hell and back with mechanics. Any suggestions?

 

You look at them, feel them, talk to them, lick them... If they taste bad, replace them. This is my strategy as for as HOses go.
