well i am basing this off the fact that i dont think a stock 350 will break 14 flat in the quarter! i have never seen anything to support it!

I don't own either of these cars but I have taken the time to educate myself on them.

 

Stock 03-06 Z's put down 230-240whp and weigh around 3100-3300 #'s
Stock 07's put down 260-270whp and weigh 310-3300#'s.
Chipped A4 put down around 170-180WHP and weigh more.


Anyone care to explain how this would be close?

 

I would love to explain it, actually its pretty easy. u are all basing your facts off of numbers found on the internet, uh its the internet, i think thats all i have to say. I based mine off of actual expierence between a stock A4, and a stock 350Z, (although the 350Z we had was i belive a 03 or an 04). Once we saw by how much the audi lost by, we figured it would be a little closer with a chip, and with the different skill between drivers, in the right circumstances it could be a somewhat close race.

 

Found on the internet eh? How bout this... I owned a A4 and a 350z.. You have just had a A4.

They all look the same before it changed to a 9-3 hatch and 9-5.

I also had a 03 9-3 sports seden... It was the biggest POS I have ever had.

 

Holy **** Batman!!! I'm not on here for 1 day, and I miss all of this, lol. WOW. Anyways, to the newb: Careful what you say, I've been herefor a while, and I still catch **** occasionally for my 350Z. Oh, and as it says in the signature, I do own both cars; now, sitting in my driveway, the keys to both in my my pocket as I type. And I'll tell you, and everyone else this: With equal driver's a chipped A4 is no match for a 350Z. I don't care if it's an auto or stick, coupe or roadster. Now, w/ that said, a chipped A4 w/ good driver vs a Z w/ a mediocre driver, and depending on the race, the tables could quickly turn. 350Z's aren't very easy to launch well, and a "not-so-great" driver in one,racing a chipped A4 from a stoplight to 50, possibly even up to 60ish, could find himself in over his head. Now, for the debate over times: I don't care what anyone claims, the new '07 350Z has run 13.30- 13.40's. True, those are great drivers, at well-prepped tracks, w/ great weather, etc conditions, but IT HAS been done. I have personally seen an AUTO 2005 Coupe run 13.866@ 102 mph. He actually beat the LT1 Camaro SS in the lane next to him. Those results aren't typical, espec w/ the auto, but again, IT IS possible. But anyways, let's stop w/ the bench racing and arguing, and make nice w/ the newb. Moral of the story is: equal driver's, 350Z beats chipped A4. Period. BUT, different driver skill, factors that arise on thestreet that don't on the track, mean sometimes what should happen, doesn't happen. Let's just leave it that.

Besides, in a perfect world everyone should be driving a chipped A4 AND a 350Z, lol.

holy hell i go to school for 5 hours and look what happens, anyhoo, I def. agree with scg and vnv, and we proved it on the street. Lucky me i go to a rich school so, u want a preformance car to test, chances are someone has it.
