Just joined the site - thinking about adding an 02 S4 to my collection.

Thought I'd post since I have some first hand experience with FI G35s. The one you ran into was probably running a stage 1 ATI procharger or Vortech, could've been a Stillen, but like someone else mentioned, there would have been a bulge in the hood. The stage 1's are almost worthless, the car has a serious lack of low end torque stock, so with the parasitic loss from the SC, and a stock pulley, you aren't making much more than stock until very high in the RPM band. So it is completely possible that it was SC'd and you may have indeed walked him.

Now on the other hand, stage 3 or 4 Vortechs haul some serious a$$. I'm pushing about 460 hp/400 ft-lbs (at the crank). A buddy at work has a chipped S4, he always gets me on the launch because of the AWD, but once I get traction and hit 3000 RPM it's over.

But it is funny, a lot of G owners drive around like they're sporting a ferrari or something. The car isn't that fast stock, it's a fat pig with no low end torque - hence why I bastardized mine!

 

I enjoyed the story...... If anyone cares. Dumb comment I know and I also always have one popped when on the A.F. Not a fan of Infinity=ghey either. Another 5 pts awarded to jetspeed and 5 taken away from those who stopped that lovely argument, I love arguing. Oh and love B5's torque(mine included)

interesting posts!! but nobody even thought of our cars more than just some strip racing beater. If you JET would've took him on some winding roads, i bet you would of walked away from him in NO time. SO I AGREE WITH YOU THAT YOU JPUNKED A G35!!
