I was with my girl in my s4 coming back from LA going towards San Diego. The S4 is GIAC chipped and I was probably doing around 80 or 75. This Nissan Maxima was cruising behind me and then he guns a ricer flyby. i am still driving the same speed not trying to get involved with such a dick and i catch back up to him again and this time wait (he didnt know what horn honks meant) until he is the first to go. I put it in fourth and we are about ebout even, when I shift into fifth he was being walked and then it was over. I would have thought that he would have been destroyed from the go.

 

I'll admit, I know little about the S4, but shouldn't you have been in 3rd gear for racing at 80mph? What were your starting RPMs in 4th? Downshifting can make all the difference in the world.

 

if pops were alive he would have had one of those, nice motors

 

While Maximas (the newer VQ35 ones) are pretty quick, they shouldn't stand up to an S4 that well. A manual one w/ a good driver is capable of 14.60 or so, but to hang w/ a car that sould be in the 13's, I would think the Maxima guy was modded. Anyways, nice kill. But it just goes to show that you can never underestimate someone.[&:]

 

optimal power isnt at redline. I was in sixth just driving and wanted him to get a little head pull. When I heard his rpms increase, i dclutched to fourth.

 

maximas have the nice g35 engines, but the g35 can beat a chipped s4 with that engine so neither can a maxima
