Default 2005 a6 new wheel advice...help!

Looking to make a cosmetic upgrade and change my wheels on my 2005 NON SPORT a6 Quartro. I was looking at the 18x8 Rial Nogaro's from Tire rack. Here's the specs....

Offset: 40mm
Backspacing: 6.02"
Bolt Pattern: 5-112
Rec. Tire Size:245/40-18
Weight: 23.8lbs

What difference will the Offset and backspacing make when compared to the original 18x8 wheel. I dont want them to be protruding out....any pics or thoughts on how these wheels may look?

Thanks
Mac

If you are buying from Tire Rack directly, I would not worry about them sticking out. They will be flush.

I have bought twice from them and everytime the wheels/tires are flush with the body.
