Braking Upgrades?
Hey,
Just wondering what anyone would recommend for a Brake Upgrade. I don't really want to go with a Big Brake Kit yet... I was thinking about rotors, pads, lines, and fluid. What would be the best bang for the buck... But also add more stopping power than stock?

Hands down, the A8 kit. Uses rotors that are an inch larger (in vented only, or in slotted or drilled/slotted), plus the caliper carriers from the TT. The combo is perfect for street-driven A4s. I love mine (see sig pic - that's my slotted/drilled A8 kit inside 18" wheels) - they look great and work great. Tons of info available in Search (many threads in the past on it) - combine them with a good set of pads (I have Hawk ceramics) and you'll love it. It's become scripture around here - so it is written, so it (should) be done. Read the posts and you won't find a single owner who feels the upgrade isn't worth it.
You definitely should. Of course the only requirement is that you run at least a 16" wheel (not a problem for most Audis) - the A8 kit won't clear a 15". Emil, when you're around next time, take my car for a braking run up the road. You'll come back and call ECS on the spot
If you are looking into getting some decent lightweight 2 pc rotors try DBA. I was researching for my car, but couldn't find anything. After some investigation I found out that the S4 rotors have the same dimensions, IIRC. Should be easier for you 1.8T/2.7T g
guys.
Didn't do much research on calipers as mine seem to do the trick with good pads and stainless steel lines. Then again, I'm not tracking the car either.
When I can afford it I would like to purchase a set of DBAs (2-pc fronts, and lightweight rears).
**pre-edit -- Looks like DBA has updated their webpage to show the correct rotors for the V8 4.2L.
**post-edit -- Here is the link to the catalogue which shows the replacement part for your Audi - http://www.dba.com.au/2006/PDF_CATAL...e_2009%201.pdf
