Default california turbo change out help

Im new to this site but an Audi lover, Nam, told me that people here could help.
My altinator bit the dust. When I took it in to get looked at, they told me that my turbos are leaking oil into it. I put my car in storage until I can save up enough to have the engine pulled, because I don’t want to have a new altinator ruined by the bad turbos. I am basically looking for advice on where to get my car done and what to also get replaced. I live in San Luis Obispo, Ca. but could trailer my car for around 300 miles to the right shop. South bay area is easiest but north L.A. is doable too. I could spend maybe 5,000$, which is a whole lot for me, so I am looking to get the best bang for my buck if that will cover the cost. I want to come away from this with some enhancements if possible but have a tiptronic B5 S4, so I cant go too crazy on the horsepower options. Could some of you guys give me things that should also be changed while the engine is pulled? Or a great shop that wont “nickel and dime” me to death? There is one shop in this area but they cater to the deep pockets and charged me 120bucks just to tell me its my altinator. I really appreciate any help someone could provide for me. My wife will kill me if I screw this purchase up! My car has been stagnant for around 6 months if that gives any ideas as to what else might need to be replaced and I have no history on its 90k miles. Thank you so much.

SO you met Nam huh? did he cook you anything? lol. We always try and help I am in the exact same boat as you, with the leaking turbo, And also have the new turbo purchase coming up. The problem we both face is even a mild upgrade to do it right is more then 5k. The labor is what kills it. A motor pull is going to cost around 1500 by itself. Then you add what they'll charge you for all the rest of the labor and your probably at 2-3k in labor costs. Then you get the while your in there syndrom. and you need a clutch, motor mounts, trans mounts and all the other little crap that goes along with it. KO4's are 2500 bucks without inlet pipes or oil lines or anything. Then you need fueling and a tune 2K, then exhaust 1500 bucks, It's just really freakin expensive. You can always by a off the shelf kit for around 5K. Really if you want to keep it cheap and only modify it a little. I would recommend finding a pair of blown K03's have them teaked a little bit, You can buy them for practically nothing on the interwebs, tweak em, do some fueling, throw an exhaust at it and a new clutch. then your in you got a nice mildly tuned stage 2 car you will defintly notice a change in horsepower, and you could get it done for under 5K. you can even just use your turbos if you have the time. Also short of pulling a motor, All the top end stuff, fueling those kinds of things we should be able to help you with to save labor costs, keep us informed of whats going on and maybe we can caravan up to Nam's for a weekend and do some work on your car. let us know.

There is always that option. I have been talking to a few people who don't recomend gt's mostly because they make there power from 5-8k rpm. Are cars run better in between 3-6k rpm. Just a thought.

Yeah Nam is my boss up here at the power plant. I have a tiptronic so they always tell me that I cant go too powerful. The shop here in SLO told me around 4k for the pull, ko3's, belts, hoses, chains, pumps, and altinator. Right now I just want to drive my car again!

4K sounds not to bad for all that, but we could do it for cheaper. Plus it looks like team DJ Motorsports is back in action, so we'll let you know.
