Default Rear fog lights - legal in CA??

I don't often hit really bad fog, but with a commute that takes me along the coast, I occasionally do hit some very nasty patches. Does anyone know what the laws are in California concerning the use of rear fog lights?

Thanks,
--Chris

having worked for auto mfgs, i've never heard that rear fog lights are illegal in california or any other state. in fact, car companies wouldn't put anything on their vehicle unless it was FEDERAL 50-state DOT compliant. in the same way that automatic DRL's are legal in any state (now), and while not required by law, there's no law against them either.

Thanks TR... California laws being what they are (from gerbils to guns, they'll ban it if they can), one can never be too cautious.
