I think that should work. I've been pming with a guy in SD that needs to do a TB job as well. We might be able to knock them both out in the same day if you're down too.

Doing one shouldn't take more than an afternoon (now that I know what I'm doing) and as long as you're both working at the same time, we should be able to get them both out of the way in the same day.

Hey love the boob5, mine is a 99.5 quattro 2.8.. are you comfortable doing the TB? I just notice that someone made reference to the 1.8 vs. 2.8.. so just wondering.

I check both ecs and blauparts and notice some differences in the kits.

should I get this one:
http://www.blauparts.com/proddetail....od=GH21112%2DA

or this one (the one that cost $213):

http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...&engine=V6+30v

I'm leaning more towards the one from blauparts. Any opinions?

there's no need for a lift for a timing belt job

I don't know about a 2.8 though... never done one of those and I had a problem finding a DIY for one earlier. 1.8t I'm confident in, but the V6 can be a pain in the *** from what I've heard (on the B5 S4 anyhow).

I don't know man...

Spheromike.... we can just stack the cars on the lift... LOL

boob5, Thanks anyway..... I've read a few post about the TB being a pain in the rump on my car. No worries, I will stick to my original plan. I was going to buy the kit and have a shop that does all my buddy's cars at his lot do mine. My buddy (one of the owners at the lot) tells me that he wont charge me much at all.

Do you guys mind if I come over anyway to check out the way it's done on the 1.8? I'll bring beer.

I fhe says he won't charge you he has obviously never done a timimng belt on an Audi. lol. And as far as i understand the 2.7 motor and the 2.8 motor are identical except they thickend up the cylinder walls to hold boost from the turbos. Thats why a lot of 2.7 S4 guys buy 2.8 heads. Anyway it is a pain in the *** but it's not impossible I did my 2.7 in a weekend with some help from the guys on here.

Let me know, I'd like to check it out... Seem very involved but maybe I can pickup a few things along the way that I can transfer when ever doing maintenance on my 2.8. Are you going to rent the tools for the TB removal or do you already have them?
