Default 2001 2.7T Wheel Fitament Q, yes, I STFA

I have a 2001 A6 2.7T that has the big brakes, and 17" BBS wheels. I've found for sale, a set of winter tires mounted on 16" wheels, originally from a 2001 A6 2.7T. Am I right in assuming that they will fit, or did the 2001 A6 2.7T come with two different types of front brakes, and different wheels to match, depending on sport package or not?
Thanks,
Gary

I've never heard of a different brakes on the first few years of 2.7t's. They all had the "big" brakes. So... the 16inch 2.7t wheels should fit. (Five spokes that seem to "bend" slightly outwards..)

Yep, that's the ones! Cool. Thanks for the info, I picked them up last night, little bit of rash from the PO laying them outside down on the garage floor, but otherwise look good, and the winter tires look like they haven't been used. Now I can't wait for the snow :-P

We have used Firestone Winterforce tires (w/o studs) for years. Even with icy roads you have to do something dumb to lose grip. The only problem we have had is when the "standing snow" is deep enough the car rides on top of the snow like a big ski. You can feel it as the weight switches from the tires to the belly of the car... (less traction) Only has gotten that deep one year and we never got stuck.

OBTW: The wheels are like the ones in the picture in "my garage."
