Audi Q7 - 21" Titanium Summer Performance Tires
Hi,
I'm new to this forum, so I apologize if this is the wrong forum to post this question.
I recently purchased a 2013 Q7 with all the bells and whistles, one of which is the 21" titanium summer performance tires. How bad are these tires to drive in winter/snow conditions? Do I need to go change my tires completely if I have to drive in snow?
Thanks !

Hello!
The summer tire that your Q7 is equipped with will not perform during winter months. Summer tires are not design to be operated in temperatures below 40 degrees and you will have ZERO snow traction. For that reason we would suggest a winter wheel and tire package. Due to the 21" wheels finding just a snow tire will be difficult. Besides, I don't believe you would want those amazing looking wheels on during the winter. :-) If you would like please feel free to call me and I will be happy to help you out.

New to the forum and this whole winter tire thing as well. Got the car (2013 Q7 S line plus) loaded with everything on it which like you said, comes with the 21" titanium and 295/35 summer performance tires. What dimension (and model) tire+wheel did you end up getting?
I already experienced few skids on curves (thankfully, just a little) on the freeway doing 60MPH in 2 inches of water; had to straighten the steering a little bit to bring it back to control. So I definitely know I need winter tires on these.
I tried to use tirerack.com but I only see options for 20" and 22" for this car. Changing the wheel dimensions would interfere with odometer/speedometer etc so I am curious to know what package you ended up with and what's your opinion after your purchase (assuming you ended up getting something for the winter). Did you end up doing the TPMS reset yourself? Was it needed?
Thanks

I ended up getting the 21" Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow tires. I got them from tirerack. This way I didn't have to change anything since they were exactly the same size/dimensions as the summer ones. Hope this helps.
