Buying tires off craigslist
Hey,
Cash is a bit tight right now and I'm due for new tires so I'm trying to find some off craigslist. I'm new to car ownership so I'm still trying to figure it all out.
I have an a3 with Continental 225/45 R17 94H on.
I saw a set of michelin pilot sport ps2 96Y 235/50zr17.
Would they work on my rims?
Thanks for your patience.

As long as all 4 are the same incorrect (albeit CLOSE to OEM) size, he sudn't have too much in the way of problems. THAT being said, I would do my level BEST to stick to an OE rolling diameter, as close as possible. According to THIS WEBSITE:
Tire size calculator
You will be 3mph off, at 60mph. That's enough to put you above the "grace" speed of most cops, at an indicated 75+ (where you will be pushing 80, actual).
There are MANY things to compromise on... I have learned, over the years, tires are NOT one of them.
