Default Offset issues

Hi guys, i'm buying some VW alloys off my mate that have a different stud setup to what my Audi A4 2003 (B6) has 5x112 to 5x100 on the new alloys.

Old tires 235/45/17 old wheels offset 35

New tires 225/40/18 new wheels offset 35

Problem is i'll need to use a spacer which is going to take the offset to 20 from 35 (as the spacer is 15mm think) was wondering if this will cause any issues on wear and tear on other components as i think the offset margin for this car is between 35 / 45, though i'm still fairly new to this offset business and only know what i have researched over the last couple of hours.

I have checked if they will fit within the wheel arch without rubbing on suspension or the wheel arch itself and i think they have a pretty good fit, its just the offset I'm stumped on and dont want to buy them then buy the spacers to find out its adding extra wear and tear on other components, or if my steering will be effected.

was hoping for a bit more information from someone that is more clued up than myself.

Appreciate any help with this.
