I've got a question about wheel offset. I am planning on upgrading my B7 A4 sport wheels (the stock A4 wheels) to the 18" S-Line wheels, also known as the RS6 wheels.

Currently my wheels have an offset of 35. If the newer wheels have 45mm offset, is the only difference that the tire and outside of rim will be 10mm outward? Does tire width matter in this case? I have 235's and will stay with 235, but I think the rim difference is 17x7.5 vs. 18x8...

I would like to know b/c I would like for them to be a little more outward and I think it will work, but just want to make sure before I bite the bullet.

Also, has anyone ever bought or seen up close the replica version of the 18" RS6 wheels? If so, do they look just like the OEM's up close? From the interwebs, they appear to be identical minus the centercap, which leads to my next question... Can the center cap be switched out for the OEM centercap?
