Can somebody please help me????

I have a 2001 A4 1.8T with 70K on it. When I start my car I get this strange ticking noise that lasts for about 2-3 seconds. It seems to only do it when its warm and reving up the engine doesn't make it tick faster, or go away. I have read a couple of different things...one putting a lighter weight oil in it, but that doesn't make sense to me if it only does it when its warm, checking the lifters was another.......
Does anybody have any other suggestions/thoughts?

my car also make a ticking noise and i have asked my auto tech about it and he told me it was normal and not to worry about it till it goes with the rpms now if he his pulling my leg i don't know but he is a pretty honest guy

 

It could also be your camshaft adjuster making noise.
