Quote from the local tuner
I stopped by a shop that APR has listed on their website. After going over all the things I want to do he quoted me $2020 for a cold air intake, APR exhaust and APR chip, everything installed. That sounds like a pretty damn good price to me. What should I be asking him? If I do this I assume that a DV should be done as well. Being a rookie, should Igo with a DV or a BOV? The suspension is next.
i'd go with a modshack.info intake over your usual CAI, and you'll most likely want a DV, its not usually long before the stock one tears. im running a forge 007 DV, no complaints.

definitely go with TTDA or VTDA intake from www.modshack.infoover a traditional intake. I have the VTDA and love it. I kinda of wish I got the TTDA sometimes only because you can run two different feeds into the intake. -shrugs-
Forge 007 DV is what my preference is... but then again... its the only one I've tried. haha. Blue spring, no shims (thats my setup, yours will be different)
Is that a full exhaust they're putting on? If so, that alone is worth more than the $2050
If I were you, I'd get multiple programs on your ECU flash too. the Valet program is friggin awesome. The peace of mind of knowing some schmuck isnt hot-rodding your car around if you ever need to leave it somewhere is well worth the extra $100.
Don't take my word for any of it though... read up on the stuff. I've had my TT 225 Quattro for about 3½ yrs and have only recently started modifying it. It gets very addictive though. Something about knowing that you're improving the performance of it and quite possibly extending the lifespan of it is somewhat gratifying.

Thanks for the input. I'll find out what exhaust he's talking about. After looking at some of the full systems online, it's hard to believe they are quoting 2020 for everything. I'll let ya'll know how it turns out.
The APR website quotes $2,499 for the APR full exhaust, and $999 for the catback I believe. So yea, I paid $500 (Well I would have, but the guy never charged my card) for my APR ECU flash with only one program initially. So even if it's just a cat-back ($999), Intake (roughly $280 depending on where you get it), Chip ($500), and the installation of all of it... I'd say thats a damn good price. It's a steal if its full exhaust.
Ask what size exhaust it is too and if it has a highflow cat. You want to make sure you open the exhaust flow good. I got the Borla catback for about $700 years ago and the downpipe w/highflow cat cost $290. So $1000 for full highlow exhaust. Labor was around $200 I think. Chip cost me $500. So $2000 is good if the exhaust is quality.
