B7 S4 vs blown mustang
Iheard a mustang, 4.6 liter (maybe 96-97?) that sounded only moderately modded. I listened to it every time it pulled out and the last time before I just assumed it was just an exhaust, I heard the whistle.
I pulled up next to him and looked inside. Two young men (20s) and lots of gauges, one looked like a boost gauge. I asked what he had done and obviously it was exhaust, blower and tune.
He started acclerating hard away from me and I kept up with him just to egg him on a bit. He blipped it and broke loose. Came to the next stop and pulled out normally. I don't like launching because of the clutch and I am sure his launches are worthless with street tires.
At about 10mph, we both hit it. I already had about a bumper and a half on him at take off. I red lined it and noticed he still hadn't broken away from me. We hit second for only a moment and then shut it down. I couldn't pull on him and he couldn't pull on me. Again, I am sure it was a traction issue. One thing I did noticed was that he really wound it out to get power. Perhaps it was a procharger. That would also explain why I didn't hear it until he hit higher RPMs.
I gave him a big smile and I got a nod of approval and we went our seperate ways. Would have loved to see what he could do with traction.
