Default Electronics Info.. (Radio)

Ok I need info on putting in an after market headunit in a 2000 s4

Will this kit work? http://cgi.ebay.com/2000-2001-AUDI-S...QQcmdZViewItem
Will I lose the radio display on the gage cluster
Will I have any problems running the head unit with the stock Bose amp/speakers
What is a good head unit to match the interior lighting. (I would like to have iPod jack and blue tooth if poss.)
Will the factory amp still work.

I’ve went threw a bunch of the posts in the search tab but it was either shitty info or nothing that could give me a direct answer to the questions listed above. I don’t need any thing retarded loud. I also read that you have to change all of the speakers; well I am not doing that. I have a sub in the rear that I ran using the factory amp. I ran the remote line and spliced the rca line into the speaker line on the amp works great but that was just a temp, but now I want to run the rca and the remote to the an after market head unit and have a hard wire for my ipod. A little help would be great from someone who knows electronics. Any pics would be also great. Thanks

The kit you need is the metra 99-9105 which is about 25 bucks at any circuit city or best buy. The ones on ebay seem highly priced to me. You will also need the wiring adapter that is with the ebay one, and a fm antenna adapter.
You will use the radio display.
The harness allows for the bose speakers to be retained, but make sure the head unit has 3 preamp outs.

just be careful going thru the antenna adapter, because then you are just using an unused FM station to play music....that means you will possible lose quality. hardwired is the only way to go. check out http://www.peripheralelectronics.com/

Im talking about an antenna adapter not a fm modulator. The antenna adapter allows the aftermarket radios to use the antenna to pick up fm stations.

Heres everything you need:
Dash Kit:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-MyjsXH0...h=metra+999105
Harness:
http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...87&i=120701787
Antenna adapter
http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...12&i=12040VW12

You will also need to get radio keys. You will lose the radio portion of the display but will retain the other functions (gas mileage, range, temperature, etc).
