Default Compatibility exhaust

Turns out all previous thoughts about my turbo problem were wrong. Wasn't a gasket, its the whole downpipe. I was quoted about 900 dollars to get it fixed, which is too much. I've found 3inch downpipes for much cheaper that I can install myself.
Q: Is a three inch downpipe going to work with the stock exhaust or will stock parts have to be re-ordered?

An aftermarket downpipe should come with an reducing adapter to fit stock exhaust. Try 42draftdesigns for new downpipe, they are generally considered to be the best quality/value.

As cmh posted that's correct..they will come with a reducer. The stock dp is a !biatch! to get out. If you don't drop the sub frame (in which you will need an alignment afterwards) you will need to cut it out with a sawzall. Putting an aftermarket one in, they comes in pieces which makes it easier to get back in. I have the 42DD 3" with both hi-flow cat and testpipe sections. I am currently running the test pipe section now coupled to my Borla cat back. You can install it with hand tools, sweat and blood. I have gotten to be a pro at mine due to the hardware coming apart. I had to keep re-tightening the fastners that came with it because they would rattle loose and then blowing gaskets. I eventually replaced the hardware and everything has stayed tight sense. I did however have the clamp after the testpipe come loose one day but it hasen't given me any issues since.

How much should I expect to pay for that down pipe. That seems to be the best on the market for the 225 TT.
