Default 1993 Audi 100 CS Quattro V6 Bose Radio

Hi. I just replaced the battery on my '93 100 quattro v6. Afterwards the stock Bose radio/cassette playerwent to a SAFE mode and it will not play or do anything. Is there a way to "unlock"the radioor bypass it somehow? I am not the original owner, so if there is a code or something I never got it. Do I have any other option or should I take it to the dealer?

Thanks!

the code might be int the car hidden somewhere ... glove box , center console, back of the radio unit, and dealer should be abe to hepl in worst case

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't seethe codeanywhere. I tried to remove the radio without success. DoI need some special tool? Its the original Bose radio/cassette unit. It has 4 small holes in the corners. I'm thinking that a special tool goes in there for removal.

Im pretty sure you dont need any kind of special tool to remove it, because mine came out with just the screws. Cant remember if the bracket comes out with it though.

Did you disconnect everything from behind?

the 4 small holes might suggest the necessety of a special tool .. it looks like a U and it comes in pairs ... you could acctually stick some thicker wire in thhose holes and than see if the inside tabs come loose
