I just bought this car yesterday, its a 1995 90s 5spd fwd. Anyways i was driving and it and went to the store and it stalled out?? anyways thinking it was nothing i came back out and it wouldnt start back up.. i checked it for spark and i didnt see anything . so right now its sitting at the store.. i want to get this thing out of there asap. Thanks for any help you can give.

No spark look at the conections to the distributor, then look at the cap and rotor, it sounds like it is a hall sender not picking up the signal...

Sorry for the such noob ?'s but im new to the audi scene. Got any dsm questions ill be glad to help.

Where is the distributor on this car , I thought this used a crank / cam angle sensor setup.
Also the car is the v6

Let me look on some of my other sites, to see where it is, Mine is only a 5 cyl. with turbo, but it still sounds like alot of the same things going on

well the car ran today then it just stalled out and same thing again ?
The check engine came on is there any way to check this using an led method ?
Also after the car had stalled i popped the hood and i noticed the exhaust manifold was glowing cherry red.
any ideas please help me out any input is greatly appreciated

You either got rain the distributor from old age cracks in wiring or the starter gave it up. Its really nothing more than a mechanic could point out after a quick inspection of your engine.

 

turned out to be cam sensor.

 

So it is running again, sometimes thing go wrong, but as a whole the things that go wrong are minimal when you actually get to drive the car and it performs as it should...
