Default audi 100 inside door handle problem

The inside door handle on the passenger side door of my Audi 100 stopped working.
The problem occured after my son was driving and his friend yanked on it before my son unlock the doors.
When the lock is open, you can open the passenger door from the outside but not the inside.
The inside door handle moves freely and seems to operate just like the drivers side.
However, it does not seem to "trigger" the door mechanism to open. All other door handles work fine.
Does this sound like an electrical, mechanical, or lubrication problem?

Hi,

I have just bought an audi 100 Avant and 3 of the doors dont open from the inside. This is down to the lock mechanism being siezed where the cable attaches. You may be able to free it up but I found that mine are buggered, need replaced!!

Hope this is of some help

When I bought my 94 cs100 about a year ago I had the exact same problem. Mechanic soaked the lock in lubricant of some sort and was able to get it back in shape! Good luck.
