Audi 90 transmission
Well, a few months back, I installed the push button start switch to bypass the bad black box, and got the audi 90 running. Well, take it down the road, and the auto trans slips HORRIBLY. Well, found a leak on the pan. Traced it to being a pan gasket. Well, some of you may remember me talking about this car. I bought it from a lady I worked for at a car lot. Well the car was shut off, getting gas, when she went to go and restart it. Well, it never started. She wanted it gone. Immediatly I wondered about the black box, once I jumped the starter and it spun, it was the number one thing on my mind. Taking a DVOM, I probed the leads, and sure enough, it was crap. Well, after a very helpful member gives me a call on the phone, and walks me through wiring a push button start switch it ran. I had no idea about the history of this car, or how long this ATF leak has been going on. So..... I go to the Audi dealer in Knoxville Tennessee, and get a pan gasket, filter, fluid, and the filter gasket. (never heard of a filter gasket, only audi lol) And I install these parts. I have high hopes that it will pull good. Well, intially pulling down my DOWNHILL driveway, it goes excellently. Well, getting on the uphill road, the rpms just broke free. The trans slips like a beast, and never re-engages. I managed to limp it home. Tranny is KIA lol. So, how hard is a trans on a 90, fwd?
Thanks for all the help. I am considering selling it too.... First 400 firm takes it. PM me, or email me. Otherwise I will just fix it. Getting a S2000, need extra for down.
Thanks
