APR chip and mileage
Looking for some insighton my allroad options. I've had it about a year and love it for mountain runs, but the mileage{17 max} is starting to hurt. Short of letting off the pedal {NOT LIKELY} are there any suggestions for improving mileage,or more frustrating, the range between tanks. I've done the K&N filter and synthetic oil. Anything else? The guys at APR said their chip has been known to improve mileage. Anyone experience this? And what has been your results with the ECU chip? Most I've read people are pleased overall but I"ve read about worn out turbos. Do I also need to upgrade the diverter valves. I like the idea of the chip for blowing past Mustangs in "the staion wagon"
My mileage went from about 18 up to about 20.5 after my apr 93 flash.
The increase is unbelievable, however after about 10k miles you get use to it and get the "urge" for more power.
I've now put 60k on my ar with the apr chip (car has 95k miles) without any "chip related problems". I just had my torque converter go, and my timing belt (water pump/tstat/cam seals/rollers/valve cover gaskets/ ect) was just done. My indy said that my car is in excellent condition, no turbo or chip related problems. That 60,000 miles of "spirited" driving. A few of those miles at 1/4 mile runs
