Default New Allroad owner

Hey everyone. My '99 Tacoma was totaled recently in an accident caused by a 16 yr old. Been shopping for a month, and have test driven 18 different vehicles before test driving a 2001 allroad. It spoke to me almost immediately saying take me home you'll care for me as my original owner did (I have all the service records - it's very well cared for), and I'll take care of you. I fell in love with it almost instantly. I think it's beautiful for a wagon. It's the Atlas gray exterior and platinum, saber black interior. It has every conceivable option (premium package I believe), and is in fantastic condition. If you go here http://www.gomotorsco.com/inventory-browse.asp and look for the 2001 that was listed at 10,999 that's the car. I got them down to 10,300 which means when it was all said and done I get to bank about 1,400 of my settlement for the Taco. So I have so money for a bike rack, and perhaps a thing or two else to make it mine.

I must admit I had no idea Audi made such wonderful, luxurious cars. It's the consummate Colorado car, and I'm sure I will love it this winter. I have no desire to mod it, been there and done that with a Mustang, and have a 2004 Corvette Z06 as a toy which I'll probably eventually start modding. The only real gripe I have with the car is the rather significant turbo lag off the line. Are there any modest mods I could to to lessen that a bit? Part of the problem of course is I'm rather torque spoiled having owned a Mustang and now a Z06, so probably I just need to get used to it, but bottom line this is my daily driver which also just happens to be a rather outstanding performer. I pushed it hard through some corners (they let me take it out on my own), and was VERY impressed with it's stability and lack of body roll.

Anyway, I'm very pleased to join the Audi community. There's little more exciting to us Americans, and especially us enthusiast than a new vehicle, used or not. Bring on the snow!

The differance is those other cars are ditch magnets.Quattro is another ball game. You will want to put some H-Sports swaybars.

thats a nice car man, i have the same thing, same year, different color. i got mine about 4 months ago with 84000 miles on it. came from a yuppy old man from cali who took excellent care of it, was immaculate when i got it ,came with all service records as well

one thing i have been told with the allroad, check the air bags. put it up in position 4 and put some soapy water on them to check for leaks, i did the same thing and mine are perfectly fine (to date haha) if they go out, they run close to $1000 a piece to replace (part and labor included).

as i understand also, there also was just a recall on the gas tank rollover nipple valve thingy, i gotta call the dealership closest to me and find out the specifics and get it in to get it fixed, so if yours hasnt, might want to call in and see.

otherwise, car looks beautiful. mine is my daily driver, im still in college for another year, and i cant wait till snow season and get it up the mountain for snowboarding. i went from a 98 cherokee with slight modifications to the quattro, and i love it

Ditch magnet huh, LOL that's good. I grew up driving rear wheel drive cars. Yea, they are more difficult to drive, but also more rewarding imho. The Mustang actually had a push bias in factory form, but of course the Vette is notorious for it's oversteer tendency. I spun it twice on my very first autox run with it. Nothing that couldn't be solved though with Koni double adjustable's to stiffen up the front and soften up the rear.

As for the Allroad. Drove it quite a bit this evening, can't imagine why Man once those turbo's are spooled up this thing hauls some serious a$$. It's a hefty car, I can definitely feel that from the driver's seat, but this engine can definitely motivate it. I'm still getting down all the bells and whistle's inside the cockpit, but I definitely love it, and wow those headlights are amazing.

Hey hope you enjoy it. My allroad is the same color. Traded in my TT for it a while ago and really love it.

Let me know how it does in the snow this season. I'm prepping mine for the annual Mammoth trip.
