Curious as to what your opinions on using synthetic oil comparted to reg. stuff is. i just got my car a few weeks ago and am going to change the oil out on it, its '01, auto, 85,000 miles. are there benefits to using synthetic oil with a turbo engine? dumb q i know, but im new to it all, my old jeep i just ran reg. oil ya know.

let me know if any of you do, and if it is safer to use it or not?

For what its worth, the manual calls for 0w30 and if not available, then 5w30 is the next in line. Castrol makes a 0w30 synth that you can find at either autozone or some place similar.

If your engine has turbo's, then yes use the synthetic. I've had several mechanics tell me if its a normally aspirated engine (v8's) then regualr motor oil and filter changed every 3-4k miles is good and what they do unless the customer says different.
