Default Transmission says; "I retire"

Transmission at 90,000 miles has hung up its hat..... oh sigh......

I see on eBay a company called Phoenix Remanufactured Transmissions ("PRT"). Their prices ($1,500) are very tempting but I am suspicious at the same time. I also see a few disgruntled custmers at http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/...705.htm#220761so I am not sure what to. They sell many transmissions so maybe these complaints are a very small percentage OR, are they the "tip of the iceberg" of complaints and problems.

Any comments welcome please.

If you can recommend another rebuilder, please do so.

Run, and I mean run from these crooks. I just got part of my money (aftercomplaining to the Arizona AG's office, the Phx BBB, and sicking my attorney on them for 5 months) back from October of 2007 when I ordered a trans for the ML. Long, horrible story, but my research since has led me to believe that they are literally con artists. Unbelievable behavior - they will actually laugh at you for being stupid enough to expect them to stand behind their product. They will ship a trans out eventually, but in my case it was for the wrong vehicle, never rebuilt, and throwing all kinds of error codes. I'm out $2,100 due to my own ignorance in not researching this company. The owner of this company should literally be in jail. It is outright theft on a daily basis. Believe the rip off report and look closely at the ebay ranking. It is almost entirely manuals- not transmissions. I eventually went with a local indie shop in town who gets their rebuilds from somewhere in Oklahoma, sorry, I do not know the rebuilder.

Please do not use Phoenix Remanufactured Transmissions or Phoenix Hard Parts (Same Company). Best of luck in your repair.
