Eurocode is not open on the weekends! If I have to take time off work, how can I afford the reflash? I am pretty impressed by these guys, but they only offer APR.

Yuppie,

You're right about their posted hours. However, they are there almost always there doing work both Saturday and Sundays. Just call them and arrange a time on the weekend, they'll do it.

Chef - good meeting you on Sunday. Question re: Revo reflash @ Eurocode, did they do any finetuning or adjustment after the program was flashed onto your ECU? This was mentioned by some posts over in the "2.0T FSI" subforum on Fourtitude, e.g.:

Yeah, the guys at Eurocode flashed the ECU and then had me do a couple test runs with the laptop hooked up to check the air/fuel mixture and boost. Everything dialed in nicely and I was on my way. If you ever have any troubles or questions with the settings just take your car back and they will adjust it for you. Not a problem at all.

Your thinking a lot harder about that chip now, huh? If you would have run the canyon with us then I doubt you'd have been able to resist the reflash until the 5k mile mark. We ruled that road on Sunday! It was a neat site seeing the three of us running the corners, one right after the other. That is, until I led the pack. Then it was me................................................ ............then Nam and Night. We need to hone Nam's cornering skills so all three of use just whip through the corners together. Maybe our speed will help the "old" A4's and S4's to chip and keep up. Well, I guess that we'd be following Jason at that point. Not sure what the chip does for a B5 S4? It has to be more powerful than us though. Next time we need to get Tim to run along with us. He has way too many dates, or excuses not to join us. I'm an "old" guy too and the ladies do flock all over us, but you got to have fun with the guys too. LOL

Thanks for letting me ramble.

Cheers!

Chef

I will stick to a little more appropriate lane change style. I don't want to steal your sig, "Crazy **** Rd Rager". You've earned that title on your own. You also might want to get bigger brakes, or start looking further up the road too. LOL

All in good humor my friend!

Cheers!

I recommend EBC brake pads for Nam, so he does not have to throw his entire body weight into the brake pedal. They have the full line available for the A3 (green, red, and yellow). My mechanic put the Green stuff and EBC rotors (slotted & dimpled) onto my wife's 2002 RSX, which has puny calipers and rotors, and it made a noticeable difference. Audi is supposed to replace our pads once during our 4 year / 50K miles, I don't know whether Nam has "taken advantage" of that already with his aggressive lane changing.

The first 06 A3's had a diferent pump than models put out later that same year. GIAC does a good job explaining this on their web site as they suggest you upgrade to the newer version if you use their stuff. They give model numbers, where to look etc... I just went to Audi and bought the newer one.
I have had the APR exhaust and chip in car since new (less than 1000 miles). Did'nt give it much of a break in period but..I have never had a problem "getting on" any race or stock engine from day one as long as you vary RPM's /Speed. APR says the problems I have may be due to cold New England Weather, bla, bla, bla...But again since new pump no problems and car is FAST. We will see what happens when next winter comes. I experienced a lot of rough running after I let car idle for a few minutes and got back on it. But again, have not had any problems lately.
I love my little grey A3. What a sleeper. It surprises most performance cars I pull up to unless they are "in the know" about the rumble the APR turbo back exhaust produces.

how much are the rotors? and pads? i'm on a budget, i'm retraining myself from spending too much on my audi, told myself i can ONLY use my tips from work for anymore mods, my paycheck goes to bills and savings.

You guys (A3Night, Audinam, Chef & T2T) have convinced me. I am going to get the APR reflash tonight @ ECodeTuning as they are running the WaterFest special. Originally Roy said I could just prepay and make an appointment to do it next week, but David called me back earlier today and said that I have to do it while the discount is still showing on APR's server.

Roy @ ECodeTuning has stated that DSG cars work better with the APR reflash as it is "smoother" than Revo. I like smooth. So Chef is still the only one with the Revo reflash, right?
