Hi, I have a 2001 A3 two door. The door open warning message stays on in the dashboard message centre. So does the interior light even though the door is fully closed. You can't engage the central locking either.

Rather than have to bring to an Audi dealer for potentially expensive diagnostics, does anyone have experience of this problem?

I'd say a faulty door switch is probably to blame and should be relatively inexpensive to get fixed. Have a look in the hinge of the doors for what looks like a little black button. Have a go at push these all the wayin to see if the lights switch on or off. Mind your fingers though as you don't want the door shutting on them when you're fiddling around in the hinge!
