I just joined and would like to hear if I am the only who is having this problem or if this is common...

I ordered an A3 (2.0 TFSI Premium Plus plus options) in July 2011 and was told about a wait time of 3 - 4 months until delivery.

It's now six months later and my order has not even been allocated yet! The dealer says that even though they are one of the largest dealers in the US, they are only allowed very few A3 allocations each month. This month's particular allocation allows them to build only one, but it must be a TDI. So there goes my next chance of my gas-powered A3 being accepted to build

Why would Audi make me wait so long if I ordered a vehicle and am ready to take delivery and pay?! I can imagine it's their way of controlling the market and ensuring that Audi stays an exclusive brand, but at the same time this is getting ridiculous!

Anyone have any suggestions?
