Default Audi A3- ESP light been removed- help?

I am actually in the trade. Today got offered a 2007 Audi A3 1.9 TDI special edition with 90k on the clock.

Seemed quite cheap so bought it. Drove it home and it went superbly bar a rattle from the dmf. No problem i thought, i can sort that with a new dmf and clutch kit.

HOWEVER!- Put it in for MOT at our worskhop today and it failed as the abs light does not light up when the ignition is on, nor at any other time. I then looked closer and found that the ESP light has been tampered with as well and does not light up at any time.

Took the clock set out but the abs and esp lights are behind the speedo and rev counter so look tricky to remove. Ran a fault code scan using vcds and there is an intermittent fault with a rear wheel speed sensor hence why the abs light has been broken and there is also a fault code within the abs module for a pressure sendor fault. Now these Teves MK60 abs modules can be repaired for sensible money now so im happy to fix this.

Anybody ever attempted to repair an LED from this dash? I could put it back in the auction and lose £500 but then some poor other sod will end up with the same problem.

Unfortunately there are some very unscrupulous people out there!

i know some on this forum have replaced some of the LEDs behind some of the buttons on the dash, but not on the cluster itself. sounds like it's pretty involved ...
