Test drove an 08 s4 today. It had the RS4 rims. the car was insane, and a true beast! But I felt every single bump, highway joint and pothole x2! Do people with the A3 3.2 s line find ituncomfortably bumpy? I am planning on lining up a test drive soon.

 

Wow, no comments, huh? If the A3 S line is as uncomfortable of a ride as the S4, dont think I will be going with an A3! Not with the roads the way they are around Boston!

While I haven't drive an S4 (and don't intend to), I am kind of in the same boat as you regarding which version of the A3 to order. As I see it, I have three options, a Premium (which is almost certain to get my wife's vote), an S-Line with the stock wheels, or an S-Line with the TI package. Given that I live just north of you in New Hamster, I'm starting to think that since I live in Frost Heave City that the TI package (with its 18" wheels) might be kind of a dumb idea even though I plan on getting a set of winter wheels and tires.

 

The ride is now were as stiff as an S4 go and test drive on yourself you will fall in love.

An S4 is pretty darn stiff - matter of fact, a newRS4 is more compliant and comfortable. A 3.2 S line is a nice balance of firmness and comfort, and in fact is a bit smoother than the 2.0 S Line.
