does anyone know if the 2.0T in 2007 can be ordered fully loaded in sport trim?
I want nav, open sky, convenience AND bi-xeon. i dont want to choose xeon, or convenience...kinda sucks, but i'd choose xeon if i have to.

Thanks for the clarification on the awd system.

I have thought about the price difference between the 2 cars and to be fair to the 3.2 and make the comparison as close to "apples to apples" as possible, you would need to order the premium and sound package with a DSG 2.0. Now the delta is ~$4,700. You also have to consider the S-Line suspesion and trim. Another ~$1,000? Finally, you are getting 2 more cylinders from a normally aspirated car which sould equate to better longevity.

I almost forgot - what's the cost of the ECU reflash?

$400-$600 for the reflash.

I think you're missing a big point for me, which is I have a manual transmission, and that's EXACTLY what I want in my Audi. Can't get that as an option in 3.2. I think the value in the A3 is the 2.0T engine, the Open Sky Roof, and the DSG (if that be your desire), although I think the car needs the sport suspension. If you're loading up on every other option known to man, including the Quattro, bigger engine, etc. I suggest upgrading models and going with the A4 or something else. I got my car loaded with all of the above, Bose, Sirrus, Paint Protection, etc. for only $27k. At that price this car is a DEAL. At $38k for a loaded 3.2 A3, I would be choosing a different car. IMO

Cheers!

from someone who actually owns a 3.2 I absolutely love it, have owned it for about a month now and wouldnt want anything else...fine for everyone else to have their own opinions (no offense to spud but I've read the 3.2 rant in about 10 different threads now) and people who have the 2.0 seem to absolutely love them too. Test drive both, make your own decision...I did.

No disrespect meant, just a well covered subject and I'm tired of hearing the rant too!!!

Good luck on your choice Falcompsx, I know the effort you're putting into your car search will yield good results. Remember, after you've gone through everything logical about your car purchase, follow your heart. You can live with the statistically perfect car, but you may not enjoy it.

Cheers!

no disrespect taken, no worries. I'll let you all know what i end up doing, whatever it may be. Right now, its looking like i'll probably wait until the end of the year. Makes more financial sense for my situation.

well, working here I have the opportunity to extensively drive both. the 3.2 is a great engine, but I still enjoy the feel of the 2.0 better. with all the drivetrain power loss from quattro, sometimes it feels the 2.0 pulls harder. the only thing is if you have a lead foot, your gonna be spinning your tires. It would probably be a better idea to get an 06 now, because all the dealerships are trying to get rid of them. You can get nav, open sky, etc. all in a 2.0 if you wanted. It would cost you a bit less than buying an 07. The S line will be available on the 07 2.0 but it will cost you an arm and a leg. Its a much better idea to get your 2.0 now with all the options.
