Default Good ol A3 Alarm Problems

Hello all,

This isnt ur usual alarm problem, but im guessing its linked. I searched the forums for a answer and i've tried the basics like slaming the doors/boot/hood shut, turned the inside sensors off, but nothing worked.

This is problem... with a twist

The alarm goes off at random times, but... The indicators lights dont come on at all, there is only a beep beep (like road runner) sound comming from the boot of the car.

Any ideas folks?

few questions is it the factory alarm or aftermarket .do you have a spare remote and if its stored in vehicle take it out a low battery can cause unexpected issues if stored in automobile does it happen all the time or only certain places and times does it arm and disarm ok

Hiya guys. Thanks for all the help and ideas. I managed to fix the problem, had to fit a brand new siren alarm, parts bout £80 from audi. They quoted me £230 to fit it.... I managed to do it myself in under a hour... But i did cheat... Those people that love audi's too much, please stop reading now...

The siren is located on the left hand side behind the central locking pump. If you can locate the subwoofer, then if you move towards the rear of the car and down, you'll see something wrapped in foam, directly behind this (ie towards the wheel arch) is the siren. Its a bugger to get to but you can cheat... If you rip out the lower compartment (its stuck with adhesive) you can access if by lifting the central locking pump. Swap the wires andhey presto your done. Now all you need to do is fix it to the body work and re-glue the panel on.

You can't tell that i've doneanything.

Cya.
