"Sportier Automatic Shifting"

Ok, gotcha, BUT.....how do the PADDLES on my steering wheel come into play then?

Dont I have to use them when im in "S" mode? Since its now a 5-Speed and no longer Automatic when in "S" Mode.

 

I'm sure Sport mode also changes the throttle sensitivity. Since the throttle is DBW (drive by wire), it would be easy to do. Taking off from a stop in Sport is much different than in Normal. I haven't read it anywhere, but I sure feel it.

 

Hah, I know...can't believe I typed that. It just acts as a 5-speed and stays in each gear a little longer. You can paddle shift if you want, but not necessary. Sport shift will pig out on the gas, though.

 

You can use the paddles anytime in any mode. Using the paddles takes it from auto to manual - like moving the shift lever to the right and shifting yourself. It's just when it is in normal auto or sport auto, it goes back to the auto mode selected if you don't use the paddles after so long (30-60 seconds).

Don't worry about the shift paddles. Just put it into 'S' on your shifter and it will do all the work. I would use the shift paddles only on a stretch where say, you needed to pass someone, or maybe were on the track. But you can use the paddle shifters in either 'D' or 'S'.

I just snuck out of work for a starbucks run. I put it in 'S' and yeah, definitely sportier. Very fun!

Man, you guys have been busy in here while I've been out! ha ha.

 

I am also tempted to take her out for a coffee run and try this "S" mode.

What was I thinking to not have tryed "S" yet?!??!

Im going to try to leave the office for a bit around 2-ish for a quick "S" mode spin.

But I think I will go for a Dunkin Donuts coffee instead of Starbucks.

 

How in god's green earth haven't you used the S mode brother this car becomes another car when put in S mode.

Stepped out got my Dunkin Donuts coffee and tried the car in "S" mode.

WHOA. Amazing and what a difference compared to just regular DRIVE mode.

 

So how often do you guys drive in "S" mode? Do you all get in your A3's and shift it right to "S" when driving off?
