My A3...
Rich - she's a beaut. But, not to be overly critical of your photo editing skills - I think you transposed the pictures on to the page. It looks backwards and I can't quite put my finger on why it does.....
Ah you guys - fancy living in a country where the front passenger drives!
(and Chef - we do have food with flavour in the UK - we call it "Indian".............or Italian, or Chinese, Mexican, Thai, Guatamalan.... :P )
I suppose I'd better introduce myself after crashing the thread. I've recently taken delivery of a 2.0T/DSG S-Line 5 door (or "sportback" as the guy in the showroom kept calling it - in fact I think he was getting a little unsettled with me calling it the "5 door" hehe). Only options on it are the armrest (can't believe you have to pay extra for the armrest, and there's no USB/SD on the stereo!), and seat heaters (I know they make you feel like you pissed your pants, but I'm getting old and feel the cold
). As it's an employer supplied vehicle, I can't do too much to it, but I arrived here via Google looking for some feedback from some real people who'd re-mapped their 2.0T, and found lots of good stuff.
So, after looking at Rich's results I decided on Superchips and went the Bluefin route so I can undo it when it goes in for a service. I've uploaded my map and I'm just waiting for the new one to be available.
Just out of interest - my car added up to about £23500 list in the UK which is about $42000 US. What are Audi selling A3's for in the USA ?
Cheers,
Owen
PS - Rich - audiaccesories.co.uk - very useful looking shop!

Cheers Richard!
I'm looking forward to another 30 or so HP and that nice looking torque curve! It just seems to lack a bit of top end go right now and it looks like the Superchips map will fix that.
The car was delivered sometime in November 06. The stereo's manual doesn't mention mp3-on-cd playback, but I'll give it some to chew on and see what happens. It baffles me how far behind car manufacturers are when it comes to things like mp3 playback, USB sticks, SD cards, bluetooth etc. None of these things are hard or expensive to inlcude in a car stereo, but even when they are offered at all - it's for ridiculous prices.
That black grille does look the business..

Your car in the US would have a sticker price around $32k or so. I can't believe how much more Audi costs in the UK. I priced out a beautiful S3 online and it would have been over $60k US.[&:]
Cheers!
Cheers!
My 2006 " sportback" base model with DSG, no other options was $ 26,940 No discount special order.
But the armrest was standard ! this does not include tax,tag etc. I wonder why the european price is so much more? Certainly not the shipping! The sport pkg. would have added $1800 if I remember correctly.

I've got a little box of tricks behind the dash connected to my Sony NW-HD3/MZ-RH1 in the glovebox. It solves the lack of MP3 issue and allows some functionality through the head unit.
In fact read all about it http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/showthr...ghlight=nw-hd3
Chef/wtA3 - we seem to pay more for cars in the UK than anywhere else in Europe (although think of those poor guys in Singapore - 100% tax on cars!!). If I was spending my own cash, I think I might visit Holland to buy an Audi. I mean - I like my A3, but $60000 for an S3?
Rich - thanks for that - and to think, the £40 cheap-*** Eltax stereo I put in my twin-tub RX-7 a year ago accepts SD, USB and mp3 on CD! Some reading to do.....
My Bluefin experience seems to be going the same way as yours did. I uploaded OK, and my new map was ready at 8:50am Today (I'll say one thing for Superchips - they don't hang about). It won't download it though. I think the USB socket on the Bluefin is a bit dodgy, as if I hold the cable towards the thin end of the Bluefin, it changes from "Waiting for PC" to "Connected to PC" and then "Serial port open". I'll give them another call tomorrow morning and I'll hold the cable down this time!
