i have a audi a6 3.0 nonquattro took it to dealer they said i needed the cam shaft position sensor and i got it bach and itys still bucking while taking off, took it back checked cvt they said everything was fine and that i need to add premium instead of other like 89 or 91 so i need 93 and that it would stop jumping after two fill ups... thought it was cvt and they said its fine ...what do you think?
i need some advice my audi a6 ..2003 3.o is jumping when taking off took too dealer they checked the tranny cvt and the position sensor was replaced they said to fill the car up twice wuth 93 because the cars octane is higher,? if someone has any i deas or thoughts please let me know.
I've got an 07 2.0T. I ran premium in it up until the company stopped paying for fuel, so for the first 120,000 miles my car ran on nothing but premium, and I averaged somewhere around 28-29 mpg in 75% highway driving, cruising at 80mph.
From 120,000 to 150,000 miles I have run regular. Same driving mix and same speeds, I now average about 28-29 mpg, no change at all noted when I switched fuel grades with respect to mpg. I can tell a slight difference in performance, but it is hardly noticeable - the engine just does not take off quite as quickly as before, mainly on the upper end of the rpm range.
I've had no engine issues whatsoever other than maintenance, other than I did just replace the crankcase breather valve, but I think that has nothing to do with the fuel grade.

Other note - my car has never knocked or had any other detrimental behaviour as a result of running 89 octane.
In my area 89 is low grade, 91 is mid, and 93 is premium. I can buy 95 at a couple of stations, but when i did I didn't notice the performance being that much better, or at least not enough to be measured on the butt dyno....
