Purchasing decision help
When It comes down to it With the economy today they want to move there new cars because the cost them more to sit on. I would go with the new 09 that way its your car and now one else's mileage. plus an extra 3200 over what you want to stay at is worth everything you will get. But the 08 with the cold weather is VERY nice. If in your shoes the 08 is how I would go I live in South-West Montana and my 06FWD does great in the snow with snow tires. See if you can get them to give you an extra 1K off the sticker to get winter tires and rims. If the do go with the 08
Here’s what I can tell you;
I live in Boston, use it as a daily driver and enjoy spirited but sane driving. I have a 08, 2.0 FWD premium, convenience, cold, open sky A3.
The FWD has been fine in snow. I’m sure the Quattro is better but how much snow are you going to drive in? Besides at some snow depth the car’s low height will overcome the Quattro. And in normal driving the FWD gets better speed and mileage.
The 2.0 has plenty of get up and go. My last car was light on HP but I’ve been very pleased with my 2.0 A3. (Read my other thread about the DSG for some info on passing power.) I’m glad I didn’t get the 3.2 there’s only so much power I need. If it’s carrying your infant daughter around how much horsepower do you really need?
A friend of mine has the Quattro 3.2 and he says its amazing, leaps, jumps, won't quit etc etc. He likes it a lot.
The heated seats are great – not to be missed.

i would go for the quattro - with the understanding that i bet you can get them lower. i went in with a price in mind (3k under invoice), stuck to it the entire time and ended up getting it (with teh agreement i'd buy the audi care package). albeit it helped when the dealer told me they "had three warehouses full of '09s" ... silly dealer.
