Reliability of Koni FSDs
What long-term experience do you other Koni FSD owners have?
I've had my FSD's for 37,000 miles, installed with stock US Sport springs. The car has never been tracked and is not driven aggressively, although some roads around here are pretty choppy. About 5,000 miles back, I started noticing more float/bobbing of the front end, and now the rears seem to be losing damping, too. It definitely felt like both struts 'softened' at the same time, and the car is now distinctly under-damped over rolling bumps (still fine over small bumps). There's no evidence of fluid leaks.
I know that they're covered under warranty, but the removal/installation costs would be my responsibility according the Koni warranty website, and I'm concerned that replacement FSDs would have the same (very) short life span.
So I'm also thinking about changing to something else - NOT interested in coil-overs - and Bilstein HD's would be an option, again with the Sport springs. Anybody out there that could compare Koni FSDs to Bilstein HDs on an A3 Sport?

That does suck, and the reason I went with the coilovers. My ride is probably a bit more harsh than yours, but I have over 50k miles on the Konis with no issues or change in performance. Hope you find the perfect combination of ride, performance and longevity.
I've had my FSDs on for about 6,000 miles. No problems so far. Luckily, I kept my stock OEM sport shocks which are probably just as good overall, but give a moderately different sort of ride...less soaking up of small road imperfections, but better in handling larger divots and indentations.
