Hey all, I'm new to the board. Currently driving an 04 S4 but might be looking to lower my payments.

We all know that the Vr6 is getting dropped into the A3 along with quattro, but I was curious as to whether you all think it will be badged as the S3.

Or do you think the S3 is going to be a different beast altogether? If so, what kind of powerplant would you imagine it having??

Its not the VR6. Its the 3.2FSI in the B7 A4 and A6 3.2 .

 

So, no S3?

 

I wish they would bring back the 2.7tt and put that in the quattro S3. that would be sweet.

 

I heard rumors of a S3 release for the U.S. but I doubt we will see the RS3?
All depends on the sales numbers which at the moment don't look good.
I would love the new 3.2/DSG/Quattro version.

 

I drove the DSG and It was ok. I think it could use alittle improvement and maybe a chip to alouw it to shift firmer.

 

Here in french Canada (Québec), we have an automobile publication that is called "L'annuel de l'auotomobile 2006" and they say that Audi announces that they will produce the S3 by the end of 2006. It's a serious publication. So I suppose that if they announce that it will be produce that it will be available for us in Canada. It seems logical, no??? You do not annouce something that will not be available.

I've read a rumor on the internet on a french site but unfortunately, I lost the adress and it was not a reliable source of info but the rumor state that the motorisation of the S3 will be the 3.2 liters but turbocharged and it will develop 350hp!!!! And of course no price range announced. Don't know if it's true but just the idea makes me smile.
