hi,


I have a 2001 a3 1.9 tdi and for a few weeks now i have not had any turbo boost. Its like im driving a bus and is so slow it makes me want to weep.

have replaced MAF, didnt fix it.

Have replaced N75, didnt fix it.


what other options do I have?

Just curious why do you say the turbos no kicking in? Do you have a boost gauge?

If you do does the gauge read in -ing at idle? Does it move at all when you press the gas pedal?

Does it idle normal? Any vac leaks?

Not a big time diesel mechanic. Just using my petrol expierience here

 

No I havnt got a boost gauge. Basically I mean I floor the car in 2nd and no soot out back, no power and basically labours slowly up to speed with high revs. What is idling normal? And how can I check vac leaks? Desperate to fix, just been on a long drive and I can't believe the amount I pay for insurance for the speed I get. Thank you for the help.

 

Well get a boost gauge first and foremost. Vac leaks can be tested w/ smoke by feel or with a tester.

Still no luck. Havnt had much chance to fiddle yet though. Will test vac pipes for leaks/blockages. Would a faulty N81 valve affect? I've heard blocked air filter may?
