Does anyone have the Ocean Blue color? Is the upkeep similar on that car than the Lava Grey or Black (swirl marks, scratches, etc.)?

I dont think any color is as visible to see swirl marks, scratches, etc as BLACK is.

BLACK is definetly the hardest to maintain and it shows EVERYTHING.

I dont think its to much to worry about if your going for the ocean blue color.

Personally, I like the Lava Grey because it is awesome looking and it is an unique color. I'm tired of silver, red, etc. and black is just way to hard to keep looking nice. My only other choice for this car would be white with the open sky, and tinted windows. Very nice!

Cheers!

I've inspected an A3 in this color and its upkeep is similar to other darker colors....yes swirl marks and scratches are quite visible, but its a popular color.

By all the responses posted you can see that very light colors show more dirt and very dark colors show scratches. You'll have to make a decision based on your particular tastes, and climate conditions.

Most popular colors purchased are ibis white, light silver, brilliant red, ocean blue, lava grey, and brilliant black.

Its apparent that liquid blue and dakar beige are not popular, as I rarely see these in photo's.

Monument Valley Arizona

Fantastic color, no swirls (keep it nicely waxed), different lighting changes the color and makes it look even better[sm=Flahssssss.gif]

I originally wanted the Lava grey, ended up going with Black on Black based on availability. I really like the Black especially how the open sky blends in and is virtually invisible from the outside. I'm pretty **** on keeping the car clean and waxed, once a week washing is mandatory. The worst is any little rock chips stick out due to the grey primer...If I could do it again I would go with white, I never see them around and they look great with tint and open sky not to mention much easier to maintain.

I've got Ocean Blue. I chose light grey interior to go along with it. It's a good combo and I think a nice compromise among all the choices available.

Sometimes I really love it, and I never hate it. Here are my color choice breakdowns...

Lava Grey ---
There are times I wish I got Lava Grey. That was my first choice. My last two cars were black. I vowed to not go that direction again, mainly because I live in a climate with at least 30 days in the summer over 100 degrees. But the Lava Grey is too dark for my taste. I think Dolphin Grey would be better, and I do believe that is the color in the brochure (that a lot of people thinks, including salespeople, is Lava Grey).

Red ----
The red is very pretty and on the day of my first test drive I sat in a Red one with black interior that was absolutely beautiful when you got up close and personal. I finally decided it was too flashy, but it was a close second choice.

Silver ---
I think the car looks great in silver too, especially with Open Sky Black up top. But if you could get a little darker than this with the dolphin grey, then even better. And silver is not a premium color and gets regular pricing.

Garnet Red ---
Don't think this is a choice for 2007, but a nice color red that could be sitting on some lots as 2006 models still.

Black ---
Pretty, but I already had black a couple times. Again, hot days here and I couldn't do it.

Misano Red ---
Available in S-Line for 2007 I believe. I'd like to see one up close before choosing.

White ---
Never really considered it much, but I've seen a couple pics in here with 5 spoke wheels that looked nice.

Liquid Blue ---
What would this car look like in different lights? I think there is one in the brochure and it looks good. Almost silver, almost blue. Sometimes I see pictures on the web however that look too powder puff blue... But in some light it almost looks turqoise too, which looked neat. I almost changed my order the day later to this, especially to be different, but stuck with my choice since it seemed silly to take a chance on something I'd never seen up close. Seems like this would have been luxurious, which is what an Audi should be.

Ocean Blue ---
My choice. Still unique. Changes in the different light. Sometimes it looks dark, sometimes it sparkles. Looks good with chrome roof rails. Open Sky blends in nice. It is good with the dirt so far.

Lava Grey was my choice too. It looks amazing, kinda changes color in different light. It hasn't become as dirty as I thought, better than black. Silver or a lighter grey would have been my second choice, but I'm tired of silver (last car). The deep metalic flakes in the paint really stands out, best looking color of any car I have ever owned. But honestly, Audi has car color right, all of the Audis I've seen have excellent color, you simply can't go wrong with any of them.

I chose Lava Grey...Ocean Blue was my first choice but I could not get it with the black leather, I didn't like the interior colors availble with blue.

i originally wanted to get the ocean blue but when i got to the dealer they had this brilliant red 2007 2.0T with the s line package and i instantly fell in love with it (i've only had it for about two weeks, i'll be 18 in 15 days, so this is my first car!) it has the open sky system and black leather interior, so its nearly all red and black, and i think its just gorgeous. I LOVE this car.
