What color did you get and why?
I just picked up my Ibis White / Black leather A3 yesterday. I love the white with the open sky roof, but also studies have shown that white is also the safest car colour. (i.e. if you line all the colours up in heavy fog or snow, the white one will disappear last). Not to mention less swirl marks when waxing with the darker colours, and it doesn't look as dirty in winter. Whatever colour you get, I'm sure it'll be a good choice :-)
I got Lava Grey simply because that was all that was left at the dealer. if i had my choice, i'd get either the white or silver because it looks very nice with tinted windows and the opensky. I don't know if anybody else has noticed this or not, but the lava grey looks nearly dark purple in the brightest sun and i hated that for a while. learned to love it though!
I went with silver because it stays cooler in the summer, shows off the lines well and gives a nice contrast to the Open Sky. In my experiences, it also shows dirt and scratchess less. If I wasn't in the southeastern US I would have probably leaned toward lava gray because it's such a standout.
I'm getting windows tinted all the way around...that's going to be really sharp.

Hi All-
My vehicle is a 2007 A3 3.2 Quattro S-Line with silver metallic/black leather, technology package, cold weather package, Sirius radio, and 18" wheels. Open Sky was something that I specifically didn't want because I do like the smooth expanse of well-crafted sheetmetal. I was toggling pretty hard between Lava Gray, Dakar Beige, and Light Silver up to the bitter end. I ultimately decided upon the silver because I had a long, hard talk with myself about forcing the poor A/C to attempt to "keep up" with cooling a dark car during the summer and decided it wasn't worth it. The silver is a "classic" Audi racing color and will be noticeably more comfortable during the 100* dog days of August when one will be anxious to jump in the car and get it quickly cooled.
Dakar Beige was definitely in the running and makes for a very rich-looking car...but it had too much gold in the mix. Gold is a color that can tend to look very "old" in a few years. The last thing I would want is a dated-looking car that is only three of four years old! Lava Gray was eliminated based on temperature capability. Silver, White, and Black are generally good for retaining that "fresh" look for a very extended period of time.
Black was chosen for the leather purely because it looks sophisticated, is especially beautiful at night, and is also a time-honored classic. My interior color was never up for discussion and was going to be black regardless of exterior color chosen. In the end, hopefully the correct decision was made. It should arrive to the dealer very, very soon.

I actually got a white A3 S-Line about 2 months ago and have tinted the windows also. It looks sooo good I love it. When I got my first car about 3.5 years ago I ended up getting silver even though I really wanted white and regretted it the whole time. So when I figured out what car I was going to get this time I wasn’t going to make the same mistake again. I actually had to look around a lot and call a few places to find a white S-Line with open sky and black interior, but it was worth it. I love my car and I would defiantly recommend knowing what color you really want and not the one you kinda want before you shell out the cash. But as long as you’re getting an A3 you really can’t go wrong.
MURANO GREEN,
Was a custom paint at the time 06 models only. 07 discontinued this color, not sure why.
REason I got the Murano Green was because it was my dealers wifes car (H.J. Pfaff, some of you may have heard of). It had only 6k on it, was sport model with superioir leather trim, custom paint, cold package, and A3 sport mats included. And since the dealers wife drove it, it was a custom order and had good care for the 6k. Plus i got a deal 36k canadian, Just as these A3's came out here.
The color is fantastic I think. Takes some getting used to, but shines from dark green, to Dark Blue at night. I only know of One other owner on these forums with the M Green, and one guy whos pic I am going to show, since I dont Yet have a pic of mine!

Black on black w/ open sky for me. If I could go back and change my mind, I'd go with white with open sky and black interior -- IMO that's color scheme provides the best contrast and really makes the open sky pop. GF drives a MKIV GTI with grey interior so definitely wouldn't have gone with grey inside my A3.
Nothing looks meaner than all black but here is SoCal with the dusty winds lately and sunny days, white would have been alot easier to take care of...
