its definitely closed at idle. Idling is no problem, from a cold start the cars rpms drop and then level at 800. When driving it the car felt like there was less power between shifts (I have a CVT so between pedal lifts)...

Thats horrible that you are actually giving up so soon on a mod. You do one thing and are discouraged. That defeats the whole purpose of modding/tuning..

Get a VAG, or find somebody that does and figure out what codes you are getting.

Sad day when you get a CEL and decide not to keep the BOV, if its something you really wanted to have,(and not just have to impress other people), then you would figure out a way to make it work.. but instead you give up all together on the whole thing

I don't want to get rid of it.. Redgoat, but Im also very concerned about damaging some thing.

Im going to go to advance auto parts, right after breakfast and I will be back with the codes.

IT's a vacuum leak then, why isn't that hose to the right of the 004 in the bottom picture (to the left of the 004 in the top pic) closed off? Did that originally go to the reservoir that you removed? 99% sure that there is your problem.

yes thats the hose to the res... How do you recommend closing it off? can I seal it off with electrical tape?

First of all, does any airflow go either in or out of the res? Where does that open hose go to? Are there any other hoses connected anywhere else to res, and are there any sensors built into the res (maybe similar to the MAP sensor in 2000+ B5s on the side mount intercooler). I really don't know much about that year, but if there is a similar air pressure or air flow sensor in the res, then you cannot simply disconnect it. And if there is no sensor in the ressystem (including hoses) and you are eliminating it, youstill do need to close off all the other hose that have flow through them. For that hose, i would either cap it off with a rubber cap and a hose clampif you can find a cap to fit well. Alternatively, remove that "T" and replace it with an elbow or even a straight coupler, if the hoses will reach.
