Ok I'm really thinkin about buyin a quatro a4 but most of the ones I find are auto now I wanna kno how much power would the stock auto a4 tranny hold up too.
I'd also like to know how is the launch in the auto compared to the 5sp and if there's any tranny mods like a high stall torque converter or **** kit etc.....

I'm buying a audi cause I like the reliabilty factor and great gas mileage but most importantly the awd launch.



My plans are to buy the gtrs eliminator kit, full exaust the fuel setup and a fmic hopin for 13s in a sleeper fashion

 

the tip trannys cant hoold much i think it about about 275tq
and u dont really wanna luanch an automatic

i say search harder and find a stick

you can always Level 10 your tranny but thats pricey as hell

Dude, you're gonna get all that and you want a freakin' automatic? Shop around...took me a solid 2 months to find mine.

I also wanted to kno about reliabilty in one of these things

I'm commin from drivin a midly modded eagle talon tsi that breaks at least once every 2 or 3 months and for some reason was only gettin 16mpg at the most.

But ya i'm more tahn likly gonna go for a 5sp but honestly u think a 100k audi would be able to hold up with the mods.

haha, I had a TSI a couple years back... god... what garbage. Just goes to show what chrysler is capable of.

Anyways, don't look to audi for reliability, nor fuel economy! Haha, they dont excel in either category. Interior quality, and all wheel drive... that about sums up the biggest selling points for me. Coming from a talon... interior quality being about as bad as it gets... you'll be very, VERY impressed.

 

But the A4 will be better than your DSM in both areas, especially if you treat it right and find one that has been well maintained.

 

ya talons are great if ur lookin for just speed other wise they suck. But If the auto could handle 275lbtrq I should be fine. and about the luanch I wasn't talking about a neutral drop, I'm talking about brake torqueing (building boost off the line). The main reason I'm considering auto is because I don't want to have to replace the clutch which is like 1500$. Honestly I think with the audi I'm going for looks more than speed. Because I'm getting a evo within the next two years. But I need something thats aleast gonna run 14s ya kno to be semi fast.

 

Dont think you can get a B6 tip into the the 13's
15's if you are lucky

 

1500 for a clutch... a tranny is much more $ than that.
