you will get better mpg from a turbo.
Ease of DIY... It's german manufacturing so the work area is tight, so doing all the basics is easy, but anything major have an after market show with good rates.
You are getting a lot more out of the s4, but as a third car the a4 will save you 10k easy and you can get better parts then what is in the s4, minus the V8, but there is not fuel savings there.

i think by S4 he was referring to the biturbo 2.7
