Default 2.8 to 1.8t swap?

Has anyone ever done this swap?

is it even possible?

Im just reading some adds with "blown engines".. and all of them are 2.8's... What is required for a 1.8t engine to go in place?

I guess my question is.. how different are the cars? is it just the engine that audi swaped in place, or is the chassis, suspension, radiator, ect all completly different?

Just curious...

dont bother, it can be done, but you will need a new ECU, re wire everything, Intercooler, etc.. its just not worth it IMHO Just get a car with the engine you want.. ohh and btw, the springs are set for a heavy load in the front on the 2.8's due to the engine weighing more than the 1.8T

Id say, yah, its quite possible, but not worth the money, if you wished to do a engine swap or something, then id say it would only be worth it if you did like a 2.0 a really built 1.8 where you were willing to make it custom etc. Otherwise, just a pain and a bigger job then needed.
